Establishing Ongoing Process Monitoring Across the Enterprise

In these economic times, most enterprises focus on their core competencies and understand that there is a close relationship between financial success, the efficiency of business operations and the satisfaction of their customers. True to the motto “What can’t be measured, can’t be optimized”, the ability to monitor and analyze organizational performance becomes more and more important. Companies begin to realize that collecting indicators without the link to processes is not enough to identify bottlenecks and to derive measures of optimization. ARIS Process Performance Manager (ARIS PPM) is a tool that enables enterprises to monitor and analyze the performance and structure of their business processes. Conventional business intelligence is enhanced by applications that link analytical functions with the monitoring of business processes.

ARIS PPM provides you with a key technology to assess your business processes in terms of speed, cost, quality, and quantity– and to identify optimization opportunities. ARIS PPM continuously optimizes internal and external business processes, thereby making a key contribution to business success. The software is also successfully used by individual departments to monitor service level agreements relating to core processes, such as order processing or maintenance and upgrade. Process discovery delivers graphical visualization of the performance of business workflows, down to individual transaction level. Best practices are thus revealed and can be reused.

ARIS Process Performance Manager version 5 enables organizations to achieve outstanding speed in analyzing business process information and extracting/importing required data through direct data management in main memory (in-memory architecture). The new architecture also provides new, unique analysis options and simplified handling.

Your benefits:

  • Performance of end-to-end processes is rendered transparent
  • Measurement of process performance (quantity, time, cost, quality)
  • Flexible and intuitive ad-hoc analysis
  • Seamless monitoring of target values and current status
  • Efficient early-warning system for critical performance indicators
  • Communication and activity analysis of departments and other organizational units
  • WYSIWYG reporting engine
  • Tight integration with ARIS Performance Dashboard

Live Analytics (New in ARIS PPM 5)

Intuitive wizards save time when performing analysis to uncover hidden weaknesses (e.g., outlier identification, wide fluctuation ranges, dimension combinations). This analysis enables users to identify optimization potential - fast. The intuitive multi-analysis panel enables you to display different process and performance views on a single screen, making it easier to identify dependencies and correlations between KPIs.

Rapid Implementation (Improved in ARIS PPM 5)

The typical implementation effort for ARIS PPM 5 is very low. Within two months, companies are able to map, analyze, and optimize an entire end-to-end process, i.e. from the definition of measure points and automated process discovery all the way to the point of process improvement realization.

Proven Process Discovery (Improved in ARIS PPM 5)
Typically, companies deploy several different IT systems to support a core process from end to end. By combining the process-relevant data from multiple IT systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, workflow, legacy systems, etc.),ARIS PPM can reconstruct the execution of each transaction from start to finish. This is an automated process which is saved in a process intelligence repository. Thus, organizations can obtain a comprehensive performance overview for their business workflows by means of objective process indicators and a graphical visualization of the actual structure of their transactions.

In-Memory Architecture (New in ARIS PPM 5)

ARIS PPM 5 provides a completely new in-memory architecture. All process-relevant data is stored—highly compressed—in the main memory of the ARIS PPM server. There is no loss of data, and no downstream database system. This means that only a fraction of the storage space required by traditional database systems is needed.

Interactive process performance dashboards
The integrated ARIS Performance Dashboard is an attractive, management-oriented tool for presenting process monitoring results. The combination of process maps and associated KPI information provides an intuitive view of the company's current performance situation. And with the aid of state-of-the-art visualization technology, non-expert users can navigate from an aggregated overall view right through to the causes of deviations from planned objectives.

Organizational insights: communication and organizational analysis
In addition to examining individual process steps, organizational analysis is a key requirement for optimizing workflows and structures in distributed enterprises. The relationships between organizational units and employees, and the connection between organizational structure and process execution, can be revealed using activity and communication analysis capabilities.
